Tablecloth Size Guide

Tablecloth Size Guide

Finding the right size tablecloth can be overwhelming so here are some general tips to help you find the right size for your table.  For formal dining we suggest a tablecloth that hangs 8″ to 12″ on all sides. For a more dramatic look try a tablecloth that hangs 30″ on all sides. This will create a puddle effect and is great for lavish celebrations. To determine the size you need, measure the length and width (or diameter if you have a round table) and add twice the desired drop to each figure.        **Don’t forget about table leaves if you have them.** Below is a chart to help you with finding the right size tablecloth for you....

13 Things To Know About Juliska Tableware

13 Things To Know About Juliska Tableware

Some of the best memories are made when family and friends are gathered around a table. It’s a tradition that dates back thousands of years and one that helps us remember to appreciate and enjoy some of the things that make life beautiful: family, friends, & food (and wine)! The phrase, “L’ Amour et Savoir Vivre” which translates into “Love & the art of knowing how to live well” is the mantra used by Juliska’s founders, David & Capucine Gooding, to describe their company. Here are 13 things about Juliska that you might not have known. Juliska was founded in 2001 by an (English) husband & (French) wife team: Capucine and David Gooding. The Goodings were inspired by 40 Bohemian glasses from 17th century Europe they found in Paris. The company started with a line of mouth-blown glass drinking vessels from the Czech Republic. Over 85% of Juliska’s designs are produced in Northern Portugal, or around the city of Prague in the Czech Republic. Juliska is passionately “design-led” and launches over 150 new and unique products every year. Juliska’s stoneware is guaranteed to withstand the thermal shock of being transferred from freezer straight to a 500 degree oven – it’s tough! They have a full time ceramic technology & modelling team in Portugal making their original designs. The name “Juliska” is of Hungarian origin. Juliska is an actual person the Gooding’s met during their travels throughout Europe, she is a woman of great style, taste and warmth; she is their muse. Their quality control personnel discards 15% – 20% of the production to maintain their high standards. All of Juliska’s glass drinkware is...
Lloyd Flanders: A Rich History in Quality Furniture

Lloyd Flanders: A Rich History in Quality Furniture

In 1906, Marshal B. Lloyd opened the Lloyd Manufacturing Company in Menominee, Michigan, where he developed a timeless and unique process of creating fine woven furniture.    Lloyd Loom In 1917 Marshal Lloyd created a process by which cellulose strands are woven into a wicker fabric, an alternative to the then popular method of wrapping cane around a frame. Each hand crafted piece of Lloyd Loom furniture that is created today uses the same technique to create the loom fabric, though new advanced techniques have been added to the process to produce a continuous strand that will not bur, crack, or peel, resulting in a consistently smooth weave. Lloyd Loom furniture is still made in the same factory where this process was developed, almost a century ago.        Woven Vinyl Lloyd Flanders vinyl furniture is made with 100% virgin vinyl and has no extra filler. This ensures that the vinyl will remain soft and pliable through many years of use and will continue to hold its shape. UV inhibitors are added to protect from sun damage and fading.  Lloyd Flanders creates timeless and quality furniture that will last you a lifetime. Stop in at Nature Works or the Designworks showroom to see why we stand by Lloyd Flanders and their made in America, heirloom furniture.      All photos are courtesy of Lloyd...
