5 Tips For Holiday Entertaining

5 Tips For Holiday Entertaining

Simplify your holiday entertaining with these five easy tips. Roast turkey, buttery mashed potatoes and sage stuffing. Sugar cookies, Thymes Frasier Fir, and a crackling fire. These festive scents fill our houses with warmth and joy during the holidays, signaling a time for family, friends and parties. While many cherished moments are born at winter gatherings, hosting one isn’t always as easy as pie. Start with these tips from our knowledgeable and experienced staff to help you get in shape for the holiday craziness.  1. Remember basics such as: Dishwasher detergent Plastic wrap, foil, extra containers for left overs Roasting pans and cookie sheets Garbage Bags Napkins and linens Next, go through your pantry and refrigerator. Save yourself last-minute grocery sprints and make sure you have items such as: Cooking oil Coffee, tea, hot chocolate or cider Wine, beer, cocktail mixers, non-alcoholic selections  Seasons and spices Baking essentials: flour, sugar, baking soda and powder 2. Make Sure Your Appliances are Clean and Working Properly  Test out your appliances well before the holidays to avoid any unneeded headaches.  Clear out your dishwasher drain and run a cycle with a cup of white vinegar followed by a short, hot cycle with baking soda.  Use your oven’s self-cleaning cycle at least three weeks before your party — especially if it’s older — rather...

New & Exclusive

We couldn’t wait to share Seaside Casual’s latest announcement about their new and exclusive color for 2018: Sage. Sage is a sophisticated neutral with hints of blue and green and can compliment or define a myriad of outdoor living spaces. Like a neutral color, sage adapts well to its environment allowing subtle hues to appear across a warm or cool color spectrum.  Sage works well with many different color combinations, it can be a bright contrast or just a subtle hint of color.  As light recedes, Sage deepens and becomes richer, adding a soft pop of color throughout the evening.  Sage will be available in 2018 for the majority of Seaside Casual’s many collections. Faribault Woolen Mill

On the banks of the Cannon River in Faribault, MN, the Faribault Woolen Mill is a living testament to American craftsmanship. Founded in 1865 , the year Lincoln died and the Civil War ended, Faribault woolens are renowned for their comfort and quality. From providing woolen blankets for pioneers heading west to comforting our troops through two world wars, our woolens are woven into American history. Today, the nearly 150-year-old story is still being woven. The Faribault Woolen Mill endures as one of the last vertical woolen mills in America. Here, fifth generation craftspeople take raw wool and create blankets, throws, scarves and accessories of remarkable comfort and quality. Irreplaceable century-old machinery stands side by side with modern technology in our “new” mill, which was built in 1892.  Stop in our store and feel the warmth and craftsmanship these of these...
